How to Troubleshoot a Dell D820 Battery

A Dell Latitude D820 is a dual core . The Laptop can be powered by using an AC power adapter connected to an electrical outlet, or from a rechargeable lithium ion Dell D820 laptop battery. The battery has a lifespan of approximately two years or 400 to 450 charge/recharges before it loses efficiency and should be replaced. If the battery loses efficiency or will not charge, it should be troubleshot to ensure the battery does indeed need to be replaced.

Instructions

1.Remove the AC power adapter from the side of the Dell D820 laptop.

2.Remove the Dell D820 battery. Locate the battery release button on the bottom of the laptop. Slide the lock release and hold it to the side. Slide the battery from the battery housing. Release the battery release.

3.Look over the battery contacts. Do you notice any dents, dings or corrosion? If you do, replace the battery immediately. It is not safe to use a damaged battery and can cause electrical problems with the laptop or an electrical fire.

4.Dampen the tip of a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol. Rub the dampened tip onto the battery and battery housing unit contacts. This removes buildup and dust, which can hinder the batteries ability to properly charge.

5.Plug the AC power adapter into an electrical outlet. Insert the other end into the power adapter jack on the right hand side of the Dell D820 laptop. Press the "Power" button to turn on the laptop. If the laptop does not turn on, the AC power adapter is not working correctly and should be replaced. If the power adapter is not working, the battery cannot be charged. If the laptop does turn on, the AC power adapter is working correctly. This test must be completed while the battery is removed from the laptop. Remove the AC power adapter from the side of the laptop.

6.Line up the battery contacts with the contacts over the battery housing unit. Press the battery into place.

7.Insert the AC power adapter. Allow the power adapter to fully charge the Dell D820 battery for six hours. During this time, do not use the laptop, as that can slow down the charging process.

8.Remove the AC power adapter. Turn on the laptop. If the laptop does not turn on, the battery is dead and should be replaced.

Pada bulan ini rencana saya blog Tips dan Tutorial Belajar Android ini akan saya isi insya allah full mengenai tutorial flashing firmware dan tutorial rooting. Mengapa hanya dua itu? Beberapa hari yang lalu saya sempat mendapatkan pelanggan Galaxy Chat. Ceritanya saya disuruh me-root Samsung Galaxy Chat miliknya serta merubah tampilannya menjadi semenarik mungkin.

Hanya beberapa bagian saja yang saya rubah. Install ini install itu, flash ini itu serta saya update ke Jelly Bean karena banyak fitur-fitur tersembunyi yang ada di Jelly Bean nya Galaxy Chat.

Pemilik Samsung Galaxy Chat GT-B5330 wilayah Asia Tenggara kini bisa bersenang hati karena update resmi Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Samsung Galaxy Chat sudah rilis. Pembaruan ini membawa beberapa perbaikan dari firmware sebelumnya dan tentunya fitur Android Jelly Bean seperti Google Now dan Project Butter yang bisa meningkatkan seluruh kinerja smartphone sudah tersedia di update kali ini.
 

Official update firmware ini memang dikhususkan bagi user Asia Tenggara dengan diboyongnya sejumlah bahasa tambahan seperti Indonesia, Malaysia, Filipina, Singapura, Vietnam, dan Thailand.

Firmware resmi ini sekarang tersedia untuk di-download melalui Over-The-Air (OTA) update serta melalui Samsung Kies. Namun, bagi beberapa pengguna yang gagal untuk meng-upgrade Galaxy Chat mereka dengan Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XWUBMD2 melalui official method, ada optional lain yang lebih mudah dengan mengikuti Update Samsung Galaxy Chat to Official Jelly Bean Firmware secara manual.

A. Persiapan

• Aktifkan mode USB Debugging. Masuk ke menu Settings < Options Developer (Android 4.0 atau yang lebih baru) atau Settings < Applications < Developer (Android 2.3 atau sebelumnya)
• Backup seluruh data anda mulai dari aplikasi, message, contact, data-data penting lain yang berada di internal memory. *Referensi : Cara Membackup ROM Android Melalui CWM Recovery, Mengembalikan Aplikasi yang Hilang Setelah Flashing atau Ganti SD Card
• Pastikan baterai smartphone anda lebih dari 80 persen
• Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean XWUBMD2 firmware hanya compatible dengan Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 saja dan bila diaplikasikan ke perangkat yang salah akan anda peroleh brick. Verifikasi nomor model Galaxy Chat dengan masuk ke Settings < About Phone

B. Fase Eksekusi
 

Tutorial ini bukan tutorial yang panjang dan ribet. Ikuti langkah-langkah Update Samsung Galaxy Chat to Official Jelly Bean Firmware berikut ini,

1. Ekstrak firmware dalam bentuk zip yang sudah anda download tadi ke komputer anda. Didalamnya akan anda dapati file berekstensi tar.md5 dan beberapa file lainnya
2. Ekstrak Odin menjadi satu dengan file firmware tadi (*hanya supaya mudah untuk dicari. Sebetulnya terserah anda ingin mengekstraknya dimana)
3. Matikan Galaxy Chat Anda
4. Masuk ke menu Download Mode dengan menekan & menahan Volume bawah + tombol Home + tombol Power secara bersama-sama. Selanjutnya tekan Volume atas untuk continue ke Download Mode
5. Jalankan Odin pada komputer anda. Bila anda menggunakan Windows 7, pilih run as Administrator
6. Sambung Galaxy Chat ke komputer menggunakan kabel data USB. Tunggu sampai Odin mendeteksi smartphone anda. Ketika perangkat berhasil terhubung, kotak COM disisi sebelah kiri akan berubah menjadi warna kuning dengan nomor port COM
7. Sekarang waktunya kita memasukkan file-file Firmware yang sudah diekstrak tadi kedalam Odin. "Klik kotak PDA, pilih file bernama tar atau Md5. Klik kotak Phone, pilih file bernama modem. Klik kotak CSC, dan pilih file dengan nama csc, terakhir pilih kotak PIT, pilih file pit. Kemudian periksa dan pastikan tidak ada file lain lagi yang masih ketinggalan / belum dimasukkan."
8. Pada menu opsi disebelah kiri Odin, centang Auto Reboot dan F. Reset. *Catatan, centang kotak Re-partition hanya jika anda memasukkan file pit pada langkah sebelumnya 
9. Verifikasi segala sesuatu yang disarankan mulai dari langkah 7 dan langkah 8. Pastikan semuanya benar dan tidak ada suatu hal apapun yang dirasa ganjil. Bila anda merasa sudah siap, kemudian tekan tombol START untuk memulai proses flashing. Flashing Galaxy Chat ini tidak memakan waktu yang begitu lama
10. Setelah flashing selesai, Galaxy Chat anda akan me-restart secara otomatis dengan dibarengi pesan PASS berlatar belakang hijau di kotak paling kiri Odin. Sekarang anda dapat mencabut kabel USB anda untuk memutuskan sambungan perangkat dari komputer

Kini Samsung Galaxy Chat B5330 anda resmi berstatus Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. Check di menu Settings < About Phone untuk melihat versi Android anda.

Catatan : Jika setelah flashing Galaxy Chat anda bootloop, masuk ke Recovery Mode (tekan dan tahan tombol Volume Up + tombol Home + tombol Power bersama-sama) lalu lakukan Wipe data / Factory Reset dan Wipe Cache Partition.
